When I started this project the goal was to share my notes, drive my own research, set up a personal peer-review network, collaborate with people I respect and hopefully give people something that they would find useful. A year on, I consider this a success.
My sincere thanks to all of you who have contributed - those who wrote guest pieces, who left comments and who shared their research, ideas and time behind the scenes. It’s very much appreciated.
Now it’s time to draw “Season One” to a close. I will take a little break until the New Year to focus on a couple of other projects, prepare my university module, recharge the batteries and get some new inspiration. However, I still plan to share some snippets of other projects each month in the meantime just so you won’t feel neglected!
What to expect from Season Two
A few months ago I did an audience survey - thanks to all of you who participated (and to those who added their own options to make me laugh: “As long as it’s Moylan-approved, I don’t mind!”).
Based on those results, I have a few conclusions:
Majority want less content, slightly more often.
People prefer research and practical explanations - especially stuff that helps them communicate better in their jobs and in a personal capacity.
Most would like to keep written content as the main output - but occasional multimedia adventures might be interesting too.
While most of you can live with the Google Doc format, it’s not the everyone’s favourite.
On my end, I have a few ambitions too:
I want to deep dive into certain topics related to communications, in particular into the digital realm and how the information environment is changing.
While I intend to tidy up the format, I want to maintain a strong “community” element to this project. Your feedback has been one of the best things I’ve got out of this.
I want to continue to regularly collaborate with interesting people (always feel free to pitch me!)
If all this seems like it might be of interest to someone you know, I would appreciate your sharing it with them and encouraging them to sign up!
P.S. For people working in EU institutions…
…later this month I’ll be doing a speechwriting training session through the European School of Administration. I’ll be joined by special guests, including Daniel Mouqué, Lina Averhoff, Anca Scortariu, Fani Farmaki and Ben Ray.
I’m pretty proud of the content, so come join if you can - click here for more details and to register!
